Mark Griffiths
Founder and Chief Executive
Prior to training as an educational psychotherapist, Mark taught in mainstream primary and secondary schools, residential schools for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and A.S. Neil’s Summerhill.
Mark was first registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy) in 2000. He then practised as an educational psychotherapist in a secondary setting until 2004, working with individuals and small groups of pupils. In 2005, Mark became Team Leader of a co-located community based multi-agency team sited in an area of high deprivation in Hounslow. The team offered schools and families consultation and intervention services and won a 98.4 satisfaction rating for the model of practice from service users (June 2008). Mark was an outreach trainer for the Caspari Foundation and managed the 2009 Caspari project for children and families who have experienced violence.
Mark founded The School & Family Works in 2010. The launch event was hosted by Mrs Maggie Darling at 11 Downing Street in March 2010. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Executive, Mark is currently delivering a Family Group at a school in Feltham
Mark is a trustee of the AS Neill Summerhill Trust. Mark’s work is further informed by his experience as a parent and step-parent and by the experience of disability in the family.
