We are pleased to announce that The School & Family Works has been awarded a 2026 Nationwide Colleague Grant to support Family Group at Clarendon School in Hampton.
Clarendon is a special school for children with learning difficulties, many of whom have additional complex needs. We have worked alongside the school since 2012, bringing children, parents, carers and school staff together through Family Group.
For families raising children with additional needs, everyday life can sometimes feel isolating. Family Group offers a welcoming space where families can share experiences, build relationships and feel understood. It recognises the knowledge and strengths that each family brings, giving parents and carers opportunities both to receive support and to support others.
Weekly sessions are led jointly by a qualified therapist from The School & Family Works and a member of the school’s staff. Through play, shared activities and conversations shaped by what matters to those taking part, families work together to strengthen relationships and support their children’s wellbeing and learning.
Nationwide’s grant will help sustain this work at Clarendon, supporting a community where children and their families can build confidence, make connections and develop lasting networks of support.
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Nationwide and the colleagues who make the Colleague Grants programme possible. Your generosity helps create time and space for families to come together, be heard and recognise how much they have to offer.
We are grateful for your support and for helping us continue this valued partnership with Clarendon School.
