We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Malorees School. This summer term, a new Family Group will launch at the school, marking an important step toward supporting families facing complex challenges.

Malorees Infant and Junior Schools are co-located primary schools situated in Kilburn, northwest London, within the London Borough of Brent. They operate as a federation, sharing leadership and a unified educational vision. Many of its pupils come from families experiencing significant adversity, including poverty, overcrowded housing, poor physical and mental health, disability, and social isolation.

Mr. Marcel Rentall, Headteacher at Malorees School, expressed the school’s enthusiasm for the collaboration:

“We are excited to be involved and committed to the success of this project. While we currently offer some therapeutic support for individual pupils, its impact can be limited when family dynamics remain unchanged. We’re confident that through this partnership, we can identify families who would truly benefit and offer them meaningful, joined-up support.”

Mark Griffiths, CEO of The School & Family Works, shared his excitement about the initiative:

“We’re thrilled to be launching a new Family Group at Malorees School. The school shares our commitment to empowering families facing significant disadvantage and we look forward to working together to create lasting change.”

This vital project would not have been possible without the generous support of John Lyon’s Charity. Their funding enables us to bring therapeutic, whole-family interventions to schools under increasing financial strain.

As Mr. Rentall reflects:

“Without your help, it would be impossible for us to offer this crucial support to some of our most vulnerable families. We are extremely grateful.”

We look forward to building a strong and effective partnership with Malorees School and supporting families to thrive.
