Nancy Graham
Director (Clinical Governance and Safeguarding)
Nancy Graham is an American citizen with an Economics degree from Randolph College (1970) and an MsC in Systemic Family Psychotherapy from Birkbeck College (1992). Having been awarded a certificate in Systemic Teaching by the Institute of Family Therapy (“IFT”) in 1993, she contributed as a lecturer to the IFT MSc. Family Therapy Course from 1995 to 2012. She has been registered as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist with the UKCP since its inception.
Her work in the UK includes eight years as a Group Worker at the DHSS’s St Charles Treatment Centre in Brentwood and sixteen years in London as a Psychiatric Social Worker – initially at an ILEA day school for children with Emotional & Behaviour Difficulties and, subsequently, at the Roehampton Child Guidance Unit. She then worked for fifteen years as a CAMHS Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist in Greenwich and South West London until her retirement in 2014.
In her career as a psychotherapist, Nancy has taken responsibility for the formal workplace supervision of social work and family therapists, as well as acting as a consultant to specialist teachers, health visitors, family centre workers, occupational therapists and doctors in training. She was therefore asked by the Board to act as SFW’s Clinical Supervisor, providing confidential support and advice to all our therapists. Separately, as a TCL Board member, she leads on all Clinical Governance matters.
