We are a small social business based in Richmond upon Thames and we employ a number of qualified, experienced therapists to work in partnership with schools to provide long term, life changing support to disadvantaged children (and their families).
This job is about helping the therapists - primarily by guiding and directing them to gather the quantitative and qualitative evidence that informs our work and measures the outcomes that we are delivering. This evidence must then be stored securely, analysed and used to both improve practice and produce reports for funders.
Other tasks include organising/attending review meetings with school staff, helping with promotional events at schools and carrying out various administrative tasks.
In addition to the above, as a key member of our small Executive Team, our operations manager will be expected to work closely (as an equal) with our Chief Executive and Finance Director and to contribute to a wide range of issues/opportunities as they arise.
Our Operations Manager must be a capable, resilient, self-starter who gets things done. We are looking for someone who is bright, energetic, organised, confident, analytical, numerate, very comfortable with IT (particularly Excel), patient, efficient and a completer finisher. He or she must also be a good team player who identifies strongly with our social mission and who is liked and respected by our therapists and by school staff.
This job needs someone who lives locally (in or around Richmond upon Thames) and who is able to work with us for about 150 days a year. As we work with schools, we anticipate that this will mean working the equivalent of approximately 3+ days a week during the 38 week school year (say, 120 days), with the extra days in the school holidays. However, this is not a job that will involve a regular working week as the needs of our business are unpredictable. Given this, we are looking for someone who can be very flexible and, in return, we will do our best to fit in with any other commitments that you might have. Most of the work can be done remotely (ie from home) but there will be a need to meet regularly with other team members at schools, in coffee shops and/or at our office in East Twickenham.
We have in mind a salary of £15,000 per annum. In addition, we operate a defined benefit pension scheme and will match employees’ contributions of 5% of salary.
