Charla is an HCPC-Registered Dramatherapist with nearly 20 years’ experience working with children, adults and families in a variety of settings, including schools, charities, private clinics and the NHS.
She trained with the Sesame Institute at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama where, for seven years, she was a Visiting Lecturer and Clinical Placement Supervisor. Charla went on to complete her PhD in Dramatherapy, also at Royal Central. In addition, Charla has an MA in Renaissance Drama from Warwick University and a BA in English Literature, with minors in Psychology and Theatre, from Augusta University in the US, where she is from.
Charla values and draws on play and the creative process in her life and work and takes a holistic approach that considers the relationship between self, body, mind, movement and expression to facilitate change.
