Marilyn Hartland

Systemic Psychotherapist



Marilyn is a qualified and experienced Systemic Psychotherapist and has a particular interest in working with attachment issues, child and adolescent mental health, individuals and couple work and complex family/individual relationships.  She also has experience in training and consultation work.

She holds a BA Hons Degree, Post-Graduate Diploma in Systemic Psychotherapy, is a qualified Social Worker (CQSW) and holds the Advanced Award in Social Work. 

Marilyn has extensive experience in working with individuals, parents, children and families both as a practitioner and manager.  She has worked in different settings including Social Care, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Early Intervention Services, Schools and private practice.  She is also experienced in working and supporting families where a child has ADHD, Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, anxiety, school phobia and problems associated with adolescence and transition.

She is passionate about her work and is highly motivated and committed to work with people in the process of creating positive changes to their lives.  She is interested in the idea that past experiences shape and influence how we think and act in day to day situations.

Marilyn is a member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and AFT (Association of Family Therapy).
